Andrew Blum is an independent filmmaker based in New York City who works as a director, producer, cinematographer, and editor.
His directing credits include nearly 30 half-hour programs for the BBC, featuring the documentary Driving Mexico’s Economy (2017), New York Stories with Joe Pascal (2018), and the Talking Movies 20th-anniversary special (2019)—for which he also shot, edited, or produced nearly 100 episodes.
As a director of photography, his recent credits include seven episodes of Al Jazeera’s flagship program Empire, the narrative feature Right of Way, and the documentary Beyond the Beach, which earned him a United Nations Foundation Prize.
Andrew’s editing work spans commercials, music videos, documentaries, and narrative feature films. He holds a degree in Film & Television from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
